Functions of the Upazila Parishad

Details:
All matters related to funding of the Upazila Parishad.
The council is concerned with granting non-funding expenditure.
Proposals to impose taxes, rights, tolls and fees.
Annual Budget of the Upazila Parishad, Annual Accounts Statement and Revised Budget.
Audit of expenditure of the Upazila Parishad.
To prepare five-year and various term development plans.
To implement the programs of various government departments handed over to the Council and to oversee and coordinate the functions of the offices.
Processing of various contracts for implementation of works by the Council.
Formation of various committees and sub-committees.
Review law and order situation in the upazila.
Review of relief and rehabilitation work of the upazila.
Implementation of the work plan and estimation implemented by the Upazila Parishad.
Review, monitor and evaluate the progress of all types of development work implemented.
Review the implementation of all decisions taken by the Council.
Other matters related to public interest.
Citizen Service: Upazila Parishad is mainly the office of the Upazila Executive Officer and other offices such as Upazila Education Office, Upazila Agriculture Office, Local Government Engineering Department, Upazila Social Services Department, Upazila Cooperative Directorate, Upazila Youth Development Office, Upazila Rural Development Office, Upazila Upazila Project Implementation.
